Title says it all. After a wait that seemed to go on forever, headstart is only a week away. After flipping factions a couple of weeks out from launch primarily so we could gank all the Asmo "PvP guilds", we'll be rolling up Elyos toons on Nezekan (the unofficial oceanic Aion server).
See you online, on our side or on our swords! ... Read more here

General Public News - TKG .. already addicted to Aion |

So we knew Aion looked great .. but the idea of 3 or 4 'preview weekends' to get a feel for the game just felt too constricting, and we were bored. Our 'destro project' in Warhammer had levelled back to 40 and rediscovered all the reasons War bites at 40, the Lotro guys had PVE'd themselves back onto the couch and the couch potatoes were hanging out for some PVP.
So, after reading some 'how to get a CN account' guides a small crew of TKG decided to hit the Chinese servers to get a feel for the game. Of coure, where 4 of us had gone 6 more decided to follow with the rest of the guild clamouring "don't burn out you bastards!".
The game is great. We've regularly found good challenging PVE with elite mobs that truly are elite, and we've spent many hours on the wrong side of rifts ganking and forcing twinks to 'log on their mains'. Flight adds an incredible dimension to every aspect of the game, and PVP itself is very fast-paced and a far cry from the faceroll that was Warhammer PVP.
TKG will be there for the headstart when Aion NA goes live, and we'll be returning to our roots in our approach to the game. Our membership has been culled back hard, we've returned to 'only if we know you well and you've proved yourself' recruiting, and we're building deep pre-release experience ready to go hard when release happens.
Look for us to be rolling Elyos on whatever server gets nominated as the 'Oceanic server'. In the meantime, here are some screenies taken along our CN journey.

We are awaiting the impending release of the NA Aion servers where will be heading in force.
An update will be provided when we decide what race and server to play on.
We will most likely not be accepting new member applications until after launch. ... Read more here

- Recruitment is currently open to all classes - Preference is for R40, but consideration given to mid-T4 with a commitment to a rapid drive to 40 - Application process involves posting on our recruitment forums followed by running in one of our warbands for a couple of nights RVR for us to ensure you'll be a good fit.
In terms of what we offer as a guild ===========================
- We PVE 2 days per week, getting as many people through as many instances as possible on those 2 days. - Commercially hosted Vent, presence on Vent for PVP is mandatory. - On every other day, we have 2-4 groups worth of alliance warband in the field from early evening through midnight+ AEDT. - We're allied with Mongbat
What we need from applicants ======================
- Passion for PVP - Commitment to teamwork and knowing when to offer input and when to shut up and follow orders - Willingness to take on greater odds and not mind dying regularly whilst trying to find ways to combat them - Willingness to focus on winning battles rather than obtaining RVE ... Well, being that no-one is powerlevelling their way to 40 and enjoying some awesome Open-RvR along the way, we've just had our 5th player hit level 40. Congrats to those guys.
1: Qara 2: Ancientwind 3: Painless 4: Woola 5: Jekk
The rest of the guild is slowly creeping towards 40 and about 80% of the guild are already in, or moving into Tier 4 at the moment. Looking forward to end-game! ... Read more here

So it's about time we did a news update lasts more than two sentences. On last checkin we were talking about the shadowbane reset .. which was a blast. TKG had a month or two of great PVP with plenty of fights and a few sieges, and certainly got reminded the difference it makes to play a game designed around PVP. Unfortunately, the mine and siege windows being limited to US hours (6am-1pm our time) meant we usually missed all the best PVP action so, as expected, it was a good time not a long time.
Age of Conan then came along, and the short summary was "great graphics, crap game". Maybe a dozen people bought the game, of which 5-6 hung in till nearly max level with most doing 20-30 levels and hitting the couch to wait for Warhammer. The only good thing to come out of AOC was a couple of quality new members for the crew.
Which brings us to now, and a game that looks like we're all going to be licking the window regularly over the next few months. Warhammer's preview weekend has just been and gone, and those of us who had the preorder (12-15) got to find out first hand why the boys in closed beta have been raving. The long and the short is "we're sold". The game was solid, gameplay was great, and all in all it seems in far better shape than the last two games we've tried on launch. The best part is, it's built around PVP - PVE is just something you do in between times.
The only question remaining is whether we roll Order or Destruction. We pretty much unanimously prefer destruction, but after our experience being on the "dominant numbers" side in EQ2 are committed ... Read more here
